Women's conference

Asbury Town Neck United Methodist Church hosts its annual "Women's Conference" Friday-Sunday, Oct. 28-30, at 429 Asbury Drive in Severna Park. The theme is "From Genesis to Revelation: Godly Women Walking a Spiritual Journey." The event features the church's Voice Praise Team, the Ebenezer Liturgical Dance Ministry, Spoken Word by the Dynamic Women of God, and a special tribute. The Galilee Fine Arts Series presents Christine Asero in "A Diva's Indulgence" with songs from Broadway at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena. She will perform songs from "Annie Get Your Gun," "Evita," "Man of La Mancha," "Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris" and more. A reception follows. Children's event

Grace Baptist Church of Sunset Beach presents this event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the church, 17 Somerset Road in Pasadena. Free event includes crafts for the kids, a costume contest and more. Information: 410-255-5616.

Fall Festival

The Chesapeake Christian Center holds its annual Fall Festival beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at 206 Weston Woods in Pasadena. Children's activities include face-painting, games and free candy. There will be musical entertainment and food. Information: 410-255-3168.

New pastor

The Rev. James Bishop Sr. has been appointed to Asbury Town Neck United Methodist Church, 429 Asbury Drive in Severna Park. For the past eight years he has served as pastor of Goshen United Methodist Church in Gaithersburg. Worship services are at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sundays. All are welcome.
