Summer Sunday school

An eight-week session of summer Sunday school, running through Aug. 7, is under way at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena. Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. The animated children's characters of "Veggie Tales" will be featured in "Welcome to the Chocolate Factory," a video retelling of God's blessings and how children can respond. Vacation Bible school

•The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 7606 Quarterfield Road in Glen Burnie, will hold vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday, July 25-29. Children 4 years old through grade 6 are invited. The theme is "Taking Root: Hunger Causes, Hunger Hopes." Cost is $5 per child. Older children and teens may serve as helpers. Festival

Galilee Lutheran Church's annual Peach Festival will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena. Event includes peaches and ice cream, desserts, pit beef sandwiches and platters, hot dogs and salads. There will also be a silent auction. Information: 410-255-2060.
