Flower mart The Four Rivers Garden Club will hold its annual Flower Mart from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Market House in downtown Annapolis. An assortment of native plants and perennials from members' gardens as well as cut flowers and attic treasures will be offered for sale. Club members will fashion May baskets from cut flowers and offer expert advice on flower arranging for the novice. Flower-arranging workshops are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Cost is $25-$35. Classical music concert Pianist Jon Nakamatsu will join the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra to perform Sergei Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 at 8 p.m. today and Saturday at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St. in Annapolis. 'Annapolis Idol' The Annapolis Opera's 25th anniversary vocal competition will be held beginning at 10 a.m. today and 3 p.m. Sunday at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St. in Annapolis. On Saturday, 27 semi-finalists will compete for one of the eight finalist spots and the chance to compete for prizes from $600 to $3,000 on Sunday. Admission is free. Book sale The Ann Arrundell County Historical Society will hold its spring book sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Glen Burnie Improvement Association Building, 19 Crain Highway S.E. Proceeds from this bi-annual event is used to support the operations of the Historical and Genealogical Research Center at the Kuethe Library, a community resource provided by the historical society and the Anne Arundel Genealogical Society. Plant sale The Annapolis Horticulture Society holds its annual spring sale from 7 a.m. to noon at the Riva Road Farmer's Market, located at Riva Road and Harry S. Truman Parkway in Annapolis. Benefit walk/run The Severn Run 4 Their Lives 5K walk/run will be held at Heritage Community Church, 8146 Quarterfield Road. Race starts at 7:30 a.m. Registration is $24. Event raises awareness and funds to bring sexually exploited women and children. A portion of the proceeds will help support the Safe House of Hope.
