Fashion show The Republican Women of Anne Arundel County holds its annual fashion show and luncheon at Chartwell Golf and Country Club in Severna Park. Doors open at 11 a.m. with shopping and cocktails. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by the fashion show, as well as silent and live auctions. A portion of the proceeds will provide funds for the organization's two charities, Arden House Domestic Violence Shelter and the No Child Left Behind program at Eastport Elementary School. Help for caregivers The annual Caregivers' Conference will be 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel, 210 Holiday Court in Annapolis. Family and professional caregivers, social workers, nurses and others can get information and access resources. Free respite care is being offered by Active Day Center of Pasadena and Active Day Center of Annapolis. Call by April 13 for reservations. A $15 registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch as well as materials, speakers, and vendor presentations. Social work continuing education units are an additional $10. Lecture Historic Annapolis' St. Clair Wright Lecture Series will feature an illustrated talk by Andrea Wulf, author of "Founding Gardeners: The Revolutionary Generation, Nature and the Shaping of the American Nation," at 6 p.m. May 20 at St. Anne's Church on Church Circle. Annapolis Symphony Orchestra The orchestra marks its 50th anniversary with events to close its season. On Friday, May 4 at 8p.m., the ASO will perform at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis. Dvorak's joyous Carnival Overture will start the show, followed by a performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. The concert will also mark the premiere of Raices: Concerto Suite for Orchestra by Grammy-winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank. Adult tickets start at $25 each and student tickets are $10.
