Volunteer fair The county's Volunteer Center, in partnership with the Department of Recreation and Parks and the RSVP Program of the Department of Aging and Disabilities, will host a volunteer fair from 9 a.m. to noon at Kinder Farm Park Visitors Center, 1001 Kinder Farm Park Road in Millersville. The fair is to help community organizations recruit volunteers and educate the community on the types of services organizations provide and raise awareness of the resources offered to the community as a whole. Triathlon The sixth annual Emily Schindler Memorial Triathlon will be held in Severna Park. The 800-yard swim, 91/2-mile bike ride and 3-mile run will be held at the SPY Aquatics Center, 623 Baltimore/Annapolis Blvd. and on the Baltimore/Annapolis Trail. Participants may also sign up for the "Flamingo Feat," with a 1,600-yard swim, 18-mile bike ride and 6-mile run.

Fashion show The Republican Women of Anne Arundel County holds its annual fashion show and luncheon April 18 at Chartwell Golf and Country Club in Severna Park. Doors open at 11 a.m. with shopping and cocktails. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by the fashion show, as well as silent and live auctions. A portion of the proceeds will provide funds for the organization's two charities, Arden House Domestic Violence Shelter and the No Child Left Behind program at Eastport Elementary School. Help for caregivers The annual Caregivers' Conference will be 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 21 at the DoubleTree Hotel, 210 Holiday Court in Annapolis. Family and professional caregivers, social workers, nurses and others can get information and access resources.
