Concert and sing-along

A Christmas concert and sing-along featuring a variety of musical groups will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena. Among the musical performers are the church's Chancel Choir, directed by Joel Borelli-Boudreau, and the Galilee Ringers, a hand bell group, led by G. Thomas Neuenschwander. Also performing will be the Brooklyn Park Middle School Performing and Visual Arts Magnet School, directed by Angela St. Pierre, and pianist Ryan Shookman. There is no admission charge, but free-will donations will be accepted for a fund to purchase new robes for the Chancel Choir. Information: 410-255-8236.


Hanukkah celebration

Chabad of Anne Arundel County presents a Hanukkah celebration beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, in the Pottery Barn Court at Westfield Annapolis. MLK Memorial Breakfast

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Jan. 16 at Anne Arundel Community College's Jenkins Gymnasium, 101 College Parkway in Arnold. Speaker will be U.S. Rep. Elijah E. Cummings. Tickets are $35; $350 for a table of 10. Winter registration

Registration is under way for winter session classes offered by Anne Arundel Community College at the seven senior activity centers operated by the Department of Aging and Disabilities. Classes begin the week of Jan. 9 and a variety of classes are available. Art exhibit and sale

"The Form and Fabric III, Artistic Gifts of the Season" group exhibit and sale is being held through Dec. 31 in the Galleries at Quiet Waters Park, 600 Quiet Waters Park Road in Annapolis. Donations needed

The Bowie Baysox have announced that Prince George's Stadium, 4101 Northeast Crain Highway in Bowie, will serve as a collection point for warm clothes donations in conjunction with Louie's Holiday Hope. Gently used winter coats and other warm clothing can be dropped off Monday-Friday between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Information: baysox.com.

'Operation Paperback'

This nonprofit organization collects gently used books nationwide and sends them to American troops deployed overseas. Since 1999, more than 1.3 million books have been shipped to military personnel around the world. Interested people can go to operationpaperback.org to learn more about the program. Register your bike

The Annapolis Police Department is sponsoring a bicycle registration program. The owner's name, address, phone number and the bike's serial number, manufacturer and color are recorded in the department's database. Registration is available to any Annapolis resident. Neighborhood associations should contact Medley if they want to hold a community registration.

Police Explorers

The Annapolis Police Department Law Enforcement Explorer Post 199 is accepting applications. Law Enforcement Exploring is a program for those who have completed eighth grade and are 14 to 20 years old. The program offers information on career activities. Fingerprinting service

The Annapolis Police Department offers a fingerprinting service at 199 Taylor Ave. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Service is also available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first Saturday of the month. The fee is $5 per fingerprint card, and the person being printed must supply the cards. Check or money order only. Tours of historic house

The Ann Arundel County Historical Society has opened the historic Benson-Hammond House and North Browse and Buy Shoppe at Aviation Boulevard and Andover Road in Linthicum for the season. Tours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. Group tours are by appointment. The Kuethe Library for Historical and Genealogical Research, 5 Crain Highway S.E., operated jointly with the Anne Arundel Genealogical Society, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays year-round.
