LINTHICUM, MD – Transportation Security Administration officers at Baltimore Washington Internatio

LINTHICUM, MD – Transportation Security Administration officers at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) stopped a Maryland man from bringing a collapsible rifle onto an airplane on Friday, October 12th. The man, a resident of Hagerstown, Maryland, was found to have a .40 caliber rifle in his carry-on bag. It was not loaded. The rifle was detected by a TSA officer when the man’s carry-on luggage entered the TSA checkpoint X-ray machine. The man claimed he did not know that he was carrying a rifle because his mother packed his bag. TSA contacted the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, who responded to the checkpoint, confiscated the gun and arrested the man on weapons charges.
