Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman has hired Barbara J. Wilkins as the new government relations officer for the county.
Wilkins replaces Alan Friedman, a holdover from John R. Leopold's administration who retired at the end of June.
Wilkins worked most recently at Holland & Knight LLP, where she was senior counsel and handled legislative and regulatory issues for corporations and business trade associations, according to Neuman's office. Before that, Wilkins was vice president of government affairs for the Maryland Chamber of commerce from 1995 until 2001, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Wilkins holds a bachelor's degree from Frostburg State University and a law degree from the University of Baltimore.
