Alan Walden wins Republican primary in Baltimore mayor's race

Alan Walden won the Republican primary in Baltimore's race for mayor.

The former WBAL radio anchor will face state Sen. Catherine E. Pugh, a Democrat, in the November general election.

Walden defeated Larry Wardlow, Brian Vaeth, Armand Girard and Chancellor Torbit in the primary.

In Baltimore, the winner of the Democratic primary has for decades gone on to win the general election. Democrats outnumber Republicans 10 to 1 in the city.
