Arundel police rule out car of interest in Odenton shooting

One day after releasing a photo of a maroon sedan to the public, Anne Arundel County Police now say it was not involved in a shooting at an Odenton home on Monday night.

But police still are seeking a red or maroon Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis -- just not the one in the photo that was circulated, said Justin Mulcahy, a county police spokesman.

Mulcahy said the car in the photo was eliminated as suspicious based on a citizen tip. The police continue to seek the public's help in finding who shot out the window of a home in Odenton's Chapelgate community.

"Keep giving us information," he said.

On Monday night, someone shot at a home in the 600 block of Cadbury Drive in Odenton. A family of five was home at the time and a 19-month-old child was injured.

Police have increased patrols in the area.
