Annapolis police investigate shooting

Annapolis police are investigating the early Friday morning shooting of a 23-year-old man while he was running from a dispute, police said.

Police said that it is possible that Dejuan Jacarter Hill of Annapolis was the victim of a stray bullet. He was in the 900 block of President Street and told them he was with a group of people nearby in the 1100 block of Madison Street when another man approached them and started talking with someone in the group. The conversation "escalated," according to a police spokesman, and both of those people reached into their pockets, leading others in the group to scatter. While Hill was running, he heard a gunshot and his right arm hurt, police said.
