Anne Arundel County prosecutors will not charge a man who accidentally ran over his grandson with a parade float, killing him, during the Annapolis Fourth of July parade.
Seven-year-old Kyle Aldridge of Baltimore was riding on a trailer that was being towed by a truck in the starting area of the annual parade when he fell to the street and was hit by the trailer's left rear tire, according to the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office. He was pronounced dead at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
The Annapolis Police Department's investigation concluded the driver could not have known what was happening and couldn't have prevented the child's death.
The State's Attorney's Office announced Thursday that based on the police findings, the case would be closed with no charges.
