Under state legislation approved last year, the 10 largest jurisdictions in Maryland, including Anne Arundel County, were directed to establish a watershed protection and restoration program aimed at curbing stormwater runoff pollution in the Chesapeake Bay. Legislation drafted by the County Council called for a fee structure to support the program, with various fees for residential and business properties and nonprofits.

Neuman held the first of the stormwater sessions on Sept. 16 at Brooklyn Park Middle School. The third town hall meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 2 in the Auditorium at Ft. Meade High School, 1100 Clark Road, Ft. Meade, with a fourth town hall meeting being planned for South County.
