Annapolis man charged with thefts from vehicles

Sheldon Tubaya, 59, is charged with rogue and vagabond, and theft in connection with thefts from vehicles in Annapolis.

An Annapolis man has been charged in connection with thefts from vehicles in the area, police said Friday.

Sheldon Tubaya, 59, is charged with rogue and vagabond, and theft after Annapolis Police said he stole a wedding ring and money from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of the O'Callaghan Hotel in the 100 block of West St. on Wednesday. He faces the same charges in connection with a March 17 incident in the unit block of West St., where a gym bag was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

In connection with the most recent case, Tubaya is being held on $4,000 bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center. For the former offense, he was arrested on April 10, but released the same day after posting $2,600 bond.

Police said they suspect Tubaya may be involved in other similar incidents. Victims of thefts in the area can call 410-268-4141 to file a report.

According to online court records, Tubaya does not have an attorney listed for these cases.
