Ward finds range for Severna Park in victory

Rachel Ward hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 24 points and Jessica Giblin added 10 points as Severna Park defeated Southern, 62-41, on Friday.

Jessica Albert chipped in with nine points for Severna Park (9-5).

Cameron Mangold scored 17 points, Julia Fitzwater had 11 points and Gianna Kronk netted 10 points for Southern (2-8).

CHESAPEAKE 55, NORTH COUNTY 51: Haley Downin hit five 3-pointers on her way to 17 points and four steals as the Cougars edged the Knights. Brooke Worrell added 11 points and seven rebounds and Corinne Castle had 11 points and six boards for Chesapeake (9-5).

Takela Robinson scored 16 points and corralled 14 rebounds to lead North County (5-9). Jada Turner scored 14 points with four 3-pointers, and Brandi Shaffer added 10 points and five assists.

SOUTH RIVER 56, ANNAPOLIS 14: Ashlynn Burrows posted 13 points and seven rebounds and Kathleen Sullivan had 11 points as the Seahawks defeated the Panthers. Paris Plummer contributed eight points and six steals and Harley Herndon provided five points, five rebounds, eight assists and five steals for South River (13-1).

Keyshai Jones had five points to lead Annapolis (2-12).

INDIAN CREEK 51, FRIENDS 29: Maddy Evans tallied 20 points and eight steals for the Eagles in their win over the Quakers. Delaney Dignam added eight points and Megan Bunker had seven for Indian Creek (10-5).

KENT ISLAND 80, KENT COUNTY 39: Se’Ri Miles finished with 33 points, seven rebounds and six steals as the Buccaneers dominated the Trojans. Blair Goodrich added 23 points and eight rebounds and Jordan Grard had 16 points for Kent Island (9-1).

GREATER GRACE 59, ROCKBRIDGE 45: Mayowa Taiwo posted 19 points, 16 rebounds and four steals for the Scots. Sarah Williams, Alanna Craig and Vivian Grev added eight points apiece for Rockbridge (4-2).
