Tree-trimmer falls to his death in Herald Harbor neighborhood in Crownsville

A 34-year-old member of a tree trimming crew died Monday morning after falling approximately 60 feet from a tree in Crownsville.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials said the man, who it did not identify, was working in a tree at the back of a home in the 300 block of Aston Forest Lane in the Herald Harbor neighborhood.

Firefighters were called to the address about 10:44 a.m. after the man’s coworkers found him on the ground, a fire department said spokesman said in a release Wednesday morning. They said no one witnessed the fall.

Paramedics determined the man was in cardiac arrest and tried unsuccessfully to revive him.

The fire department did not identify the company involved. The incident is being investigated by Maryland Occupational Safety and Health.

A spokeswoman for the state agency could not be reached for comment.
