Police said earlier this week that a man and a 17-year-old male were shot during a New Year’s Eve party at the home.

Marshall University confirmed that the man shot was Aaron, a 19-year-old redshirt freshman defensive tackle at the university.

Police could not confirm the identity of the victim, but Marshall University in West Virginia has confirmed reports he is Larry Aaron, 19, of Columbia.

His mother, Melissa Aaron, told The Herald-Dispatch her son was left paralyzed by the shooting after the bullet became lodged in his spine.

Police said witnesses did not indicate that Aaron was the intended target.

“The police department is asking that anyone with recordings, photographs or information, no matter how insignificant you think they may be, to please contact Detective Pattana of the Anne Arundel County Police Department,” the department wrote on social media.

Anyone with information is asked to call 410-222-8763 or 410-222-8610.
