A 19-year-old woman has died and two others were critically injured after an early morning crash in Laurel, fire officials said.
At about 2:38 a.m. Monday, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to Route 295 in the area of Route 32 in Laurel for a two-vehicle accident involving a sedan and a SUV, fire officials said.
A 19-year-old woman driving the sedan was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Her passenger, a 25-year-old man, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with critical, possibly life-threatening injuries, fire officials said.
The 19-year-old male driver of the SUV also suffered critical, life-threatening injuries and was transported to shock trauma, officials said. Officials have not yet released identifying information for the three individuals.
Fire officials said they were advised the SUV hit the sedan from behind, overturning the smaller vehicle. Both the 19-year-old woman and her passenger were trapped in the sedan and had to be removed, fire officials said.
