The Maryland Natural Resources Police are searching for a Loudoun County man who has been missing since Thursday after a boat he was fishing in was found with its engine running ashore on Kent Island, a police spokeswoman said.
Police say 64-year-old Jae Jin, was fishing on the water since Wednesday, slept overnight in the boat and remained on the water until midday on Thursday, said Lauren Moses, a spokeswoman for Natural Resources Police.
At about 3:20 p.m. a call was made for a running vessel with no one aboard, Moses said. Fishing poles were found in the water and the investigation is ongoing, she said.
Maryland State Police and the U.S. Coast Guard have assisted in search efforts and will continue the search Friday. A state police helicopter may be assisting pending weather conditions, Moses said.
