Hermine Saunders is a free-lance writer about senior issues for the Carroll County Times. She has served in many volunteer capacities--Board of Carroll Lutheran Village, Board of Carroll Lutheran School, Commission on Aging & Disabilities, to name a few. Having earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of Maryland, she taught in University College, Baltimore County Public Schools, Carroll Community College. She retired from Carroll Lutheran Village as Director of Church & Public Relations.
