I was extremely disappointed that University of Maryland, Baltimore County professor Don Norris personal opinions were included in your article about next year's school board elections ("As deadline nears, few school board candidates," Jan. 5). They belonged, if anywhere, on the opinion pages.
At the very least, the opportunity should have been provided to refute Norris' editorial judgments regarding Allen Dyer's reelectability.
Many Howard County residents deeply appreciate Dyer's willingness to stand up for what he believes, rather than folding in the face of disapproval from the HCPSS establishment. We strongly support his demand that the board comply with the law.
Many of us think it is Dyer's adversaries, not Dyer, who should be challenged in their re-election campaigns.
