Monday forecast: Sunny, high near 60

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies Monday, with a high temperature near 60 degrees. South winds between 3 and 11 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 21 miles per hour, are expected.

A small craft advisory is in effect for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay and tidal Potomac River from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.

Monday night's forecast calls for clear skies, with a low temperature around 38 degrees and southwest winds between 8 and 11 miles per hour, turning to the northwest later in the night.

Tuesday is expected to be sunny with a high near 52 degrees and northwest winds between 4 and 7 miles per hour, becoming calm.

There is a chance of showers Tuesday night, mainly after 3 a.m. Expect increasing clouds and a low temperature around 37 degrees. Calm winds, turning to the east and increasing to around 5 miles per hour are forecast. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected.
