A Linthicum man has been charged with burglary and motor vehicle theft after an early morning pursuit, Maryland State Police said.
A trooper encountered a truck pulling a trailer with a stump grinder on Route 140 in Carroll County and stopped it "due to a suspicious set of circumstances," authorities said.
When the trooper approached the vehicle, the driver sped away, according to police. The driver drove onto Interstate 795 and then exited the highway, where he lost control of the vehicle causing the trailer to overturn, police said.
The driver, 38-year-old Mark Joseph Kyle, fled on foot and was apprehended on Nicodemus Road in Reisterstown, police said.
The truck had been stolen from the Stansbury Tree Service in Finksburg, authorities said.
