Traffic: I-95 northbound closed at Tydings Memorial Bridge due to an accident

As of 8 a.m. Friday I-95 northbound was closed at Tydings Memorial Bridge, due to an accident.

Route 924 was closed between Vale Road and James Avenue in Harford County due to an accident. According to a State Police officer in Bel Air, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist at that location at around 5:23 a.m. Friday. Additional information has not been released, pending notification of the victim's family.

State police at the Glen Burnie Barrack say a two-vehicle crash on I-97 around 9:30 a.m. has since been cleared.

Baltimore County police reported numerous accidents due to icy road conditions but no serious injuries. Crashes at westbound Philadelphia Road at Joppa Road and southbound Harford Road at the Harford County line created traffic jams, they said.

Accidents were slowing traffic at Route 152 westbound near I-95, the inner loop of I-695 at Frederick Road in Baltimore County, I-95 northbound near Level Road in Harford County, I-95 southbound near I-695 in Baltimore County, the outer loop of I-695 at Washington Boulevard, Martin Boulevard at Pulaski Highway in Baltimore County, Route 194 at Crouse Mill Road in Carroll County, U.S. 40 eastbound at I-695 in Baltimore County, and Marriottsville Road at Ward Chapel Road in Howard County.

There were no major delays reported on Baltimore area transit systems.
