Pair charged after toy gun is pointed at woman

Maryland State Police have charged a man and a teenager with assault after a realistic-looking toy gun was pointed at a motorist in Westminster.

It happened about 2 p.m. Wednesday on Route 97. Troopers say a woman was driving when a passenger in the car in front of her leaned out the window and pointed what appeared to be a large rifle in her direction. Police say she backed away from the vehicle, and the passenger again leaned out the window and pointed the item at her.

The woman called troopers and the vehicle was stopped. During a search of the car, troopers allegedly found an Airsoft gun that closely resembled an assault rifle.

Twenty-three-year-old Todd Gori of Sykesville and a 17-year-old have been charged with assault and reckless endangerment.
