Baltimore police report nonfatal double shooting in Poppleton

Two men were shot Friday afternoon Baltimore's Poppleton neighborhood, both sustaining nonfatal leg wounds, police said.

The double-shooting took place just before 4 p.m., according to a news release. After hearing a gunshot, an officer saw a man running. The officer stopped the man and found that he had been shot. More officers arrived a few moments later and found a second victim at the intersection of North Freemont Avenue and West Lexington Street.

Police believe the shooting occurred in the 100 block of N. Freemont Ave., and have not released any information about suspects or motive.
