Shooting victim identified as police investigate three incidents

City police continue to investigate three separate shootings Monday that left one man dead and another critically wounded. Police said Gregory Kearney, 29, died of gunshot wounds about 5 p.m. near the intersection of Preston and Ensor streets in East Baltimore.

Another unidentified man was seriously wounded earlier Monday when he was shot in the face. The victim, who remains in critical condition at an area hospital, was found at 1:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of N. Stricker St. in West Baltimore. Homicide detectives had been assigned to investigate the case because of the severity of the victim's injuries, police said.

A third man was shot around 9 p.m. Monday night in the 800 block Cator Ave., east of York Road, in North Baltimore. He was treated for a minor wound to his left forearm and released from an area hospital, police said.
