Va. man is killed in one of two S. Baltimore shootings

Baltimore police are investigating two shootings that occurred overnight in South Baltimore, one of which killed a Richmond, Va., man, a police spokesman said Sunday.

Officers were called shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday to the 4100 block of Mariban Court, where they found Raymon Parrott, 35, who had been shot multiple times in the torso, according to Det. Donny Moses, a police spokesman. Parrott was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, Moses said.

Police were told that Parrott was in Baltimore to visit family members, Moses said. Parrott was in the living room of his relatives' apartment when shots were fired through the front window, striking Parrott, Moses said.

In the second incident, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, a 20-year-old man was shot multiple times in the shoulder and arms in the 2800 block of Winwood Court, Moses said. The victim, whose name was not released, was in good condition at Shock Trauma, Moses said.

The victim told police that he was standing with a friend in front of the friend's house when two masked men walked around the corner and began shooting without warning. The victim was struck as he tried to get into the friend's house, Moses said.

Police have no suspects or motives in either shooting, Moses said.
