Man killed in shooting in Cherry Hill

A man who was shot in the head Saturday night in Cherry Hill has died, police said.

The victim was found after officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2700 block of Giles Avenue in the South Baltimore community. Police said they found an adult male lying in the grass with gunshot wounds to the head, torso and arm. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before midnight.

As of midday Sunday, police had not been able to identify the man, who became Baltimore's 195th homicide victim of 2011. Police said they knew of no suspect or motive. The killing is the fourth in Cherry Hill this year. People with information about the incident were asked to call detectives at 410-396-2499.
