Anne Arundel police have identified a pedestrian who was killed Sunday in Hanover.

Investigators said Robert Henry Mundell, 66, was dressed in dark clothing and walking in the right eastbound lane of Dorsey Road, just west of the intersection with Ridge Road, when he was struck shortly before 8 p.m. by a Mazda sedan. The driver of the Mazda, Matthew J. Lang, 26, of Harmans, was not injured and remained at the scene, according to the police statement.

Mundell, of the 7400 block of Dorsey Road in Hanover, was taken to the University of Maryland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Poor lighting, pedestrian error and possible intoxication on the part of the pedestrian contributed to the crash, police said.
