Baltimore police arrest woman in fatal stabbing

Baltimore City police arrested 29-year-old Trina Shannon Collins on Sunday for the stabbing death of 31-year-old Devon McCloud after what police say was a domestic dispute.

The victim was found bleeding outside Collins’ apartment in the 500 block of N. Schroeder St. on Saturday night. Police said he had been stabbed in the chest with a steak knife. He died of his wounds at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Police located Collins and during questioning she confessed to stabbing the victim after a physical altercation, they said. She said she gathered her children and left the apartment, passing McCloud on the steps, police said. She told police she threw the murder weapon into a park on Saratoga Street and called the victim’s family to tell them what had transpired.

Collins has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held at Central Booking and Intake Facility.
