A man is suspected of stealing money from vending machines at car washes and gas stations in Charles County, authorities said.
The suspect has broken into vending machines at five locations since mid-February, according to the county sheriff's office. The sites include Extreme Car Wash in La Plata; Age to Age Auto in Hughesville; Speedy Clean Car Wash in Bryans Road; Extreme Car Wash in Waldorf; and the CITGO gas station in Glasva.
Most of the thefts have occurred during the overnight hours, police said.
The suspect was seen driving an older model blue Ford pickup truck with silver trim, authorities said.
