W.Va. man charged with bathroom attack in Western Md.

A suspect wanted for beating a 77-year-old man in a department store bathroom and leaving him bloodied has been arrested.

The attack inside a Sears store in LaVale in Allegany County was unprovoked, authorities said. The victim was treated at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center and released.

West Virginia State Police arrested 41-year old Chanin Allison Clark of Slanesville, W.Va., on Tuesday after investigators in Maryland obtained a warrant.

Store surveillance video captured the suspect, according to a statement from police.

Searches of two residences turned up the clothing worn by the suspect and a woman he was with at the time of the incident, as well as additional evidence connecting Clark to the crime, investigators said.

Clark has been charged with assault. Police expect additional charges and arrests.
