Ocean City plans to choose new city manager in March

Ocean City has hired a firm to conduct a nationwide search for a new city manager and plans to select the person in March, according to a report.

Officials have hired Springsted Inc., a public sector advising firm, to conduct the search, The Daily Times of Salisbury reported. John Anzivino, senior vice president of Springsted, will give a presentation on the selection process at a town council meeting on Monday.

The firm plans to do recruitment and preliminary screening work in January and February. It will then narrow down a list of candidates to four or five finalists who will be interviewed by the mayor and council.

Dennis Dare resigned as city manager in September. Mayor Rick Meehan has been filling the position in the interim.
