90-year-old woman drives wrong way in Sandy Hook, hits two cars head-on

SANDY HOOK — Maryland State Police say a 90-year-old woman driving the wrong way on U.S. 340 in Sandy Hook crashed into two cars head-on.

Troopers say Dolores Ryan of Carlisle, Pa., was traveling east in the westbound lanes about 6:50 p.m. Monday when she struck the two cars.

She was taken to a local hospital with a serious head injury.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that the other two drivers, 35-year-old Amy Fowler of Middletown and 42-year-old Richard Reynolds of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
