: A Montgomery County police officer shot himself to death after leading a Maryland State Police trooper on a high-speed chase on the Eastern Shore early Monday, state police said.

: The holder of the winning Mega Millions ticket purchased at a Baltimore County convenience store stepped forward Monday to claim the prize, officials said. Maryland Lottery spokeswoman Carole Everett said the winner will remain anonymous, but lottery officials plan to share a "story line" with the public during a news conference Tuesday morning.

: Legislation to add elected members to the Baltimore County school board failed in the General Assembly late Monday, amid intense opposition from County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

: The Orioles' 3-0 start to the season -- buoyed by a trio of sensational starting pitching performances -- quickly came crashing down to reality in a 6-2 loss to the Yankees at Camden Yards in front of an announced 25,478.

: At a Baltimore Circuit Court trial scheduled to start Wednesday, prosecutors will try to convince a jury that Reuben Dunn, 28, was behind the wheel when two teens were killed on Martin Luther King Boulevard -- an allegation disputed by Dunn's attorney.
