City moving to overhaul zoning code: The city is working on a far-reaching piece of legislation, "Transform Baltimore," that would replace the city's decades-old zoning law. The new law is designed to be more understandable and speed up the zoning process.

MTA driver suspended after fight with passenger: A Baltimore bus driver has been suspended pending a police investigation into an altercation between her and a young female student on the No. 40 bus line, according to a MTA spokesman. A video of the fight was posted on YouTube and has already been viewed thousands of times.

Catholic bishops vow to hold the line on gay marriage: Meeting for the first time since voters in Maryland legalized same-sex marriage, members of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said they have no plans to soften their position that genuine marriage can occur only between one man and one woman.

Elmo puppeteer's accuser recants underage sex allegations: A claim that "Sesame Street" puppeteer Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo, had sex with a minor has been withdrawn by the 23-year-old man who had said he was 16 when he began a romantic relationship with Clash.

Petraeus scandal hits White House at awkward time: The messy scandal that forced CIA Director David H. Petraeus to resign and sparked an investigation of the U.S. war commander in Afghanistan has thrown the Obama administration's national security team into turmoil.
