: A 38-year-old Southwest Baltimore man was in critical condition Sunday night after he was shot by an officer when he refused to drop a knife, city police said.

: Maryland State Police say a traffic stop on the Eastern Shore led to the discovery of more than 1,300 cartons of untaxed cigarettes in a New Jersey man's van.

: Officers were called to the 1900 block of Clifton Ave. just before 6 a.m., where they found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the buttocks, police said.
