: Anne Arundel County activists plan to publicly denounce on Monday "a climate of insensitivity and intolerance" that members of the Anne Arundel County Council have fostered, an Annapolis civil rights leader wrote Saturday.

: A Baltimore firefighter was injured Sunday evening battling a blaze in a vacant, two-story rowhouse at 304 E. 24th St. in north Baltimore's Barclay neighborhood. The firefighter was injured after he fell through a hole in the first floor of the building into the basement, according to a city fire department spokesman and union representatives.

: A 47-year-old man died Sunday after he was stabbed near the corner of West Lombard Street and South Calhoun Street in Baltimore's Union Square neighborhood, according to city police.

: Baltimore County Executive Kevin B. Kamenetz said he is seeking legislation that would combine some school system and county government functions, an effort to save money if teacher pension costs are transferred to counties.
