: A 16-year-old girl died after being hit by a small SUV hit the girl at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday while she was walking near the intersection of Annapolis Road and Ohio Avenue, according to Baltimore County police.

: More than four years after a gunman killed 32 people and wounded 25 before committing suicide, tragedy struck the Blacksburg, Va. campus again when a gunman ambushed and killed a campus police officer and was later reported to have been found dead.

: Drivers should be aware of the newest camera -- on the outer loop of the Baltimore Beltway at Exit 13 (Frederick Road). It will be up and running on Tuesday, the State Highway Administration says.

: Harford County Sheriff's deputies discovered the body of a 21-year-old man Thursday morning in a car parked in an Edgewood neighborhood. Officials believe the victim was targeted and the crime was not a random act of violence.
