According to a release from the Annapolis Police Department, officers responded to 80 calls for service and arrested seven people in the past 24 hours.
Officers arrested William Saunders, 22, of Annapolis on various charges, including armed robbery, robbery, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, rogue and vagabond, mayhem, and theft less than $1,000, police said. The arrest stems from an incident in the unit block of Bens Drive on Oct. 28 at 3:40 p.m., according to police.
Saunders is the second suspect to be arrested in the robbery, police said. Kyle Murray, 18, was arrested in November. Saunders posted $650,000 bond and was released, police said.
Other crimes
Burglary: Between 11 and 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, an unknown subject gained entry to a vacant apartment in the 900 block of Primrose Road and destroyed property inside, police said. There were numerous holes punched in the drywall, damage to light fixtures, and a mirror was shattered. There was no sign of forced entry to the apartment, police said.
Burglary: Between 7:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 7, an unknown subject forced open the back door to the basement of a residence in the 400 block of Halsey Road and removed a Dell laptop computer and jewelry from the residence, police said.
