Anne Arundel Community college said on Thursday it will push back the end of spring semester three days due to winter-weather-delayed openings, which means final exams will conclude the day before commencement.
AACC said its revised calendar marks the end of 15-week and 13-week class sessions will end on May 13; exams for those classes will be held from May 14-20. Commencement will remain on its scheduled date, May 21, AACC officials said.
The revision also does not affect the school's March 16-22 spring break, officials said.
"The extension of the academic term will not restrict any graduate from participating in the commencement ceremony," said John F. Grabowski, AACC dean for enrollment services. "The college has a well-developed process that ensures every graduate successfully completes all required courses prior to the award of a diploma."
