A man has been arrested on suspicion of trying to seize a gun from a police officer so he could shoot Donald Trump at his weekend rally in Las Vegas.

Michael Steven Sandford, 19, will make his first appearance in federal court Monday afternoon on a charge of trying to commit an act of violence on restricted grounds, according to a complaint filed by the U.S. attorney’s office in Las Vegas.

The five-page document laid out Sandford’s activities leading up to his arrest and his statements to law enforcement officers.
