David Teel

Columnist David TeelWriter

David Teel is an award-winning sports columnist for the Daily Press. Inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in April 2014, he joined the newspaper in 1984 and has chronicled the Atlantic Coast Conference, dozens of college bowl games, 25 NCAA Final Fours, Super Bowl XLIII, U.S. Open golf, the 1996 Summer Olympics and more. Teel grew up in Baltimore, graduated from James Madison University in 1981 and still types with two fingers. His wife, Jill, is the family's most accomplished athlete and astute sports observer. The couple welcomed a daughter in 2011.
