•The Renaissance Institute at College of Notre Dame of Maryland will hold a conference on the future of health care at 9 a.m. Saturday in Knott Auditorium. Speakers will include Dr. Peter L. Beilenson, Howard County health commissioner; Liddy Garcia-Bunuel, executive director of the Healthy Howard Health Plan; John Michael O'Brien, assistant professor of clinical and administrative sciences at College of Notre Dame of Maryland School of Pharmacy; and Dr. Chi Van Dang, an oncology professor and vice dean for research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Howard County General Hospital hosts a talk called "Pre-Diabetes: What Is It and What Can You Do About It?" from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Wellness Center at the Medical Pavilion at Howard County, 10710 Charter Drive, Suite 100, Columbia.
