Maryland proposes ban on crib bumpers

Maryland Health Secretary Joshua M. Sharfstein was 15 when his favorite Orioles player, Eddie Murray, struck out in the ninth inning during a game at Memorial Stadium on May 10, 1985. The young Sharfstein, who frequented the games with his grandfather, was devastated. Then Fred Lynn stepped up to the plate and hit a game-winning home run that made the crowd go crazy. "I was elated," Sharfstein said. The Orioles won, 6-5. (Baltimore Sun photo by Barbara Haddock Taylor)
