Maryland Transit Administration bus stops will also close at the blue awning, at the Bayview Medical Offices entrance, and on Nathan Shock Drive, by the emergency department. Bus 22 and Bus 30 will be rerouted with stops at Hopkins Bayview Circle.

Also, on April 1, the emergency department entrance on Nathan Shock Drive will close permanently. The entrance will be relocated to the mid-campus parking lot. Access for emergency vehicles and patients being dropped off will be on Hopkins Bayview Circle.

When completed in 2014, the new emergency department will be three stories and almost 54,000 square feet, or four times the existing space. It will have 48 beds, a patient observation unit, a dedicated pediatric emergency and inpatient unit and a psychiatric evaluation services unit. There will also be eight ambulance bays.
