Traci Kodeck to head HeathCare Access Maryland

HealthCare Access taps Traci Kodeck as its new CEO.

Traci Kodeck has become president and CEO of HealthCare Access Maryland, a non-profit group that helps link residents to health coverage and helps them better navigate the health care system.

Kodeck has been serving as interim CEO since last fall when Kathleen Westcoat left the position to head Behavioral Health System Baltimore. She's been with the agency since 2000, more recently as the chief program officer were she worked on programs to reduce high frequency utilizers of the 911 system and a Baltimore City effort to reduce infant mortality and improve health.

The group also works to sign up residents for the state's online health exchange, created under the federal Affordable Care Act to help the uninsured buy health insurance.

"The board of directors is so pleased that we were able to identify such a dynamic leader as Traci Kodeck to be at the helm of HCAM," said Duane Taylor, CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers and Chair of the group's board. "Traci is extremely knowledgeable regarding the health care landscape in Maryland and is well-poised to lead the organization to new heights."
