'Once,' '"We Will Rock You' Coming To New Haven's Shubert

Did you like "Once" when you saw it once, twice, thrice on Sunday night's Tony Awards? Or how about "Bring It On!" Or "Mamma Mia!

Then get ready for the 2013-14 Broadway series of New Haven's Shubert Theater, which will be celebrating its 99th year.

The Series opens with the non-Equity tour of "Mamma Mia" Nov. 22 to 24, followed by the non-Equity tour of "Bring It On!," which was nominated this past Broadway season for outstanding musical and choreography on Broadway. The gymnastic-happy show plays Jan. 16 to 18

"The romantic musical "Once, an Equity tour, plays Feb. 26 to March 2. The show won eight Tonys last year, including best musical.

"Stomp" returns for the umpteenth time March 28 to 30.

The Equity tour of "We Will Rock You," featuring the music of British rock group Queen with a book by Ben Elton, comes to the Shubert as part of its first national tour, April 25 to 27.

The musical's story is set in n the future, when "computer-generated music reigns, live rock is outlawed and conformity is brutally enforced -- until a pair of young Bohemian renegades, Galileo and Scaramouche, dare to break free and search for a long-buried electric guitar." The show has been playing for more than 10 years in London's West End.
