Aug. 13, 1:37 p.m.: At The Airport, Headed Back Home

We watched the Closing Ceremonies at both the Switzerland House and a London pub. The locals loved it and the ceremonies became a British music singalong.  It was a great atmosphere.  Now I am back at Heathrow airport waiting for my flight home. It was said that this could be the busiest day in the airport's history.  If so, it seems like business as normal. While there was much fear of long security lines, a transportation mess and shutdown of the city, I saw none of this. Everything seemed to run quite smoothly. - Larry Slone, Simsbury
